March 2019 Blog Battle

Our word this month is:

Dusk

You can start writing at any time, but make sure you post your story by the 30th of the month to have your story shared here and on social media.

Once you’ve posted your story to your blog, put a link to it in the comments section, and we’ll add your story to the Battle Stories Line-up post.

Make sure to check back and read some of the stories of your fellow battlers. Leave comments to encourage these writers, and share each other’s stories!

          • That works for me! How about a pseudo book cover with the prompt word as the title used as featured image too. Big up your design service at the same time?? Which reminds me….

          • It might be, but a template would be swifter in the longer run. I’m merely here to throw ideas about 😂😂 That said is it me or are the entries growing a bit? If we could get every person to share the prompt on Twitter at the right hashtags it might get even bigger?

          • I toyed with writing a post regarding boosting the BB. A call to arms (or pens) if you like. I think blog wise people forget to just hit the Twitter link when they read and hit like. Hashtags that might help are #shortstories #writingprompt and #writingcommunity. Maybe I’ll change the lead in to next months prompt too on mine to emphasise community building and sharing. That and the online anthology concept… any good?

          • You are a smart man. I tend to use #flashfiction also, but I usually forget #writingcommunity, so that’s a good one to add. I made a simple bookcover design for last month’s word. I’ll post it on Twitter with a link to the battlers post shortly. You can let me know what you think.

          • Inquisitive is my nature… if not sure, watch people and see which tags (in this case) see traffic. If we modify the prompt post a tad then hashtags can be included in it for sharing. That way we don’t forget and it can be a reservoir for more as and when we find them. Tag me into that link too. I might not see it until tomorrow now!
